About WG1
Working Group 1 focuses on reviewing literature as well as market and industry databases to collect information on technologies, methods, tools, protocols, and industrial and market segments involved or interested in generating new knowledge in the area of indoor air cleaning.
Its key objective is to identify existing technologies and commercially available solutions for indoor air cleaning. WG1 thoroughly reviews solutions already developed to remove indoor air pollutants and provides an overview of the relevant market.
Databases Developed
- Literature Review Database: Includes pollutant typologies, indoor environments, geographical distribution, technologies, methods, materials, ventilation, sensors, flow rate, device types, and technology readiness levels.
- Market Review Database: Focuses on identified commercial products, describing filtration technologies (HEPA, activated carbon, UV radiation, ionizers), performance metrics (CADR, efficiency, energy use), operational aspects (noise, maintenance), and market data (price, warranty, availability).
Knowledge Hub
An integrated literature sources and market products knowledge hub has been developed to facilitate access and exploitation of the collected information. It includes two main tools:
Literature Review Knowledge Hub
AI-powered chatbot providing domain-specific answers about indoor air cleaning technologies, based on curated literature data.
Access ToolMarket Review Digital Platform
Interactive platform functioning as a marketplace and research environment for indoor air purification technologies.
